16th ITS World Congress, Stockholm, Sweden, 21-25 September 2009 IBEC ran 3 Special Sessions for the World Congress, along with the pre-congress workshop and a reception, as in previous years.
The sessions run by IBEC were as follows:

ITS in Europe - 7th European Congress on Intelligent Transportation Systems and Services, Geneva, Switzerland, 3-6 June 2008
IBEC organised a special session titled "Evaluation of Vehicle Infrastructure Integration and In-vehicle Systems" (SS05, 4 June 2008, 14:00-15:30).
This session provided a comprehensive and up-to-date review of the latest evaluation methodologies and helped raise awareness of the support available including presentations covering:
- impact assessment of co-operative system deployment;
- results from eIMPACT;
- the selection of services within co-operative traffic management environment - COOPERS; and
- the evaluation process developed to assess ISA in Sweden.

14th ITS World Congress on Intelligent Transport Systems, Beijing, China, October 2007
IBEC, along with several co-sponsors including the World Bank, offered its popular "Evaluation 101" training course, with simultaneous translation into Mandarin Chinese. In addition, IBEC offered four Special Sessions as part of the regular World Congress program and hosted its annual business meeting and an evening reception. The topics of the Special Sessions were: urban road pricing, ITS and safety, the value of travel and traffic information, and "desperately seeking the business case for traveler information".

IBEC organised a session entitled "Improving the Reliability of Transportation Contributions made by ITS". Richard Mudge (Delcan, USA), past chair of IBEC, moderated. The presentations included "Putting Policies into Practice: Role of ITS" (Phil Tarnoff, University of Maryland, USA); "System Management Journey - Performance" (Randell Iwasaki, CALTRANS, California, USA); and "Freight Best Practice: ITS" (Jonathan James, Faber Maunsell, UK).
5th Chilean & 2nd Pan American Congress, Santiago, Chile, 16th November 2006
IBEC organised a special session within the Congress Program. Also, with the support of IBEC Chair Steve Morello (Group EGIS, France), IBEC organised a workshop on evaluation with the assistance of Patty Del Pozo (ITS America). Mr Jaime Huerta (ITS Spain) provided additional information on the status of evaluation in Spain and Europe. Using examples from around the world, the workshop demonstrated how evaluation could have a positive affect on planning for ITS in Chile. Presentations
